I am not an athlete. I am not a workout fanatic. I am not obsessed with the gym. I am not her:

MomTip: The Dinner Daily is - hands-down - my favorite paid-for meal planner. You can ask all my family members – I’ve talked their ears off about this planner. It is only $4/month – and they send you customized meal plans that match the sales from your local grocery store. Also – they allow you to mix-and-match the 5 dinner recipes with any from their repository – so you never get a recipe you don’t like. This meal plan has given me so much sanity! Get 2 weeks for free to test it out.

But, I love to be fit.  I love to be healthy.  I love to feel good after I workout!  So, here are some thoughts I have about exercise for the average woman :).

I learned how to be active when I was a kid.  We played sports, ran miles, yearly completed President’s Physical Fitness, did years of Swim Team, loved gymnastics for years, played kickball in the backyard,  and did numerous other activities.  Because of this, I am very flexible, my body bounces back when I start working out, and it is easy and normal to be active.  If you have kids, get them active!  It will change the rest of their lives.

I don’t have a “thing”.  I don’t run marathons – or do Crossfit every  morning.  But, I always have something going on.  I start something, and then change it up when my life needs a new routine.  Here are things that I have done in the past eight years.

The list goes on.  I just like having something.  I have tried working out all hours of the day.  For a season, I would leave work at lunch, drive to my zumba class, drive back in my pouring sweat, and start work completely out of breath :).  Just do something!

For me, accountability is key.  I have met with friends at lunch to walk.  I love Zumba and Pilates classes because they make you go!  I have made monthly calendars to give my friend so she holds me accountable.  My husband and I ran Couch to 5K together.  Right now, I have a friend that works on my floor, and we both make each other go workout after 5.  Find someone who can conveniently do it with you!  It will make you think twice before cancelling!

I love numbers.  I weigh myself every morning.  I track my calories (read about how I do it here).  But, at the end of the day, I know I need to workout when I feel gross.  My body loves cheese and chocolate (do I blame it?) and after a few days of eating heavy food and not being active, I just feel gross!  That’s when I know I need to do something!  A few days of Jillian Michael’s will change the grossness for good!

MomTip: It doesn't matter if I'm uber prepared for dinner - I also want my kitchen to be clean and inviting. This is why I've perfected the "Clean my kitchen in 10 minutes" routine. Check out how I clean my kitchen (or any room, for that matter!) in 10 minutes here!

Pretty workout clothes and a new Tervis can make me look forward to all that sweat.  I love finding discounted workout clothes at Rugged Wearhouse and buy my gear on Amazon.  Here are some of my favorite things I use:

I bought these years ago – and still love them!  They are great Yoga pants.

I love 10 minutes workouts – because you can do as few or as many as you want!

If you are going to get a yoga mat, get one with a carrying handle!

Here is my current favorite playlist that makes everything more fun!  Enjoy!
