Is it just me, or has anyone else struggled with Facebook Pages lately?  I am finding that posts are just don’t have the reach that they used to.  And, if the solution is paying for advertisement, then I am not in!

If you are a Modern Commonplace Book reader (not blogger), please skip down to the last paragraph.  If you are a fellow blogger, please keep reading!

Anyway, I started looking into the “why” and “how” of the Facebook changes.  And this is what I found:

Social Triggers wrote recently “Warning: If You Have a Facebook Fan Page, Read This…”.

Read it.

Basically, we are all going to have to start paying for all – or most of – our reach.  This was the impetus behind one of my latest Facebook posts:

According to AdAge, Facebook said, “We expect organic distribution of an individual page’s posts to gradually decline over time…”

This means you may not receive my content anymore via the Facebook page.

So, if you’d like to BE SURE you don’t miss out on all the great content we offer, you should hop on our email list.

Thoughts, anyone?

This leads me to my plea!  If you are a Facebook user, PLEASE consider signing up for an email post alert here – and not use Facebook.  My email alerts are sent out once a day, and only include the one post written that day.  They do not include ads.  They do not include spam.  They are simple and user-friendly  They also include full-length posts, so you don’t need to switch to the internet to keep reading.  Curious to why you should subscribe?  Read this!
