It’s time for eyeliner again! Just to remind you, this is not my strong suit – just something I want to perfect! Last time, I mentioned two easy ways to implement eyeliner without ending up with a deep, dark hole, and this time I am going to attempt to tackle gel eyeliner.
While pencil eyeliners tend to be a favorite and one of the easiest types to use, I have found that they are lighter in color and tend to smudge. I have tried even some of the best (Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil), and have found that it gives me a wide, smudgy-line. This really doesn’t suit me. I have found that gel eyeliners give a deep impact – a straight line of pitch black with no smudge. This is what I love. It takes a steady hand (again, not my strong suit), but it’s worth it!
This is my new favorite look! It is so easy – and looks like you don’t have any eyeliner on. I like tightlining with a gel eyeliner, because this little line needs all the punch it can get! Tightlining is the art of drawing a line under the top lash line. It requires holding up the top lashes, and brushing on the liner at the base of the lashes. This doesn’t give any noticeable eyeliner affect, but makes those lashes go “wow!”

Look 2: Gel Eyeliner
This next look is the typical gel eyeliner look. (Just for the record, I wish I could do this without pictures. It is weird to post pictures of your eyes.) I start brushing from the outer lid and use small, thins strokes. I only line where my lashes touch, so I don’t create a “black hole” look. When I’m done, I soften it with a Q-tip. Please ignore my wavy eyeliner, I was in a hurry! I am not perfect at this, but I like the dark lash line this gives. I am still working on my technique, so pass on any tips you have!
