I love my cookbooks. I have a whole shelf in my kitchen that make me so happy. But, in this day and age of pinterest and allrecipes.com, it is sometimes far easier to run to my computer and print out a recipe. The result is a pile of random papers that float around my kitchen. My friend Carey gave me this solution – and it is wonderful! The result is a 3-ring binder whose purpose is to store random printed recipes, magazine clippings, and prints from the internet. I also collect recipes from grocery stores and throw them in here. This is the easiest DIY there is!
This is what you need:
- 1 – 1-2″ 3-ring binder
- 1 – Box of clear plastic sheet protectors (you can get 100 here for $9.99)
This takes one minute to assemble – and saves hours of trying to organize and find those elusive recipes. I decorated mine with a collage of pretty scrapbook paper, but you can use photos, quotes – or a pretty picture from a magazine. My notebook is loosely organized. I keep main dishes in the front and desserts in the back. Somewhere in the middle are snacks, appetizers, side dishes, and breakfast items.
I am almost ready to start a new notebook. You can never have too many!
