No meat.  No pans.  30 minutes.  Only a $.89 can of black beans?  That’s where it is at!  (Oh, and my husband, a self-proclaimed carnivore, requests these regularly..they are that good!)

Our Favorite Black Bean Burgers

(makes 2 large burgers)


  • 1 can of black beans
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs (I like to use Italian bread crumbs or crumbled Cheez-Its)
  • Splash of Worcestershire Sauce
  • Plenty of Garlic Powder, Greek Seasoning, Seasoned Salt or Italian Spices – and S&P

Mash all the ingredients in a bowl using a mashed-potato masher.  Form into patties and grill until done (around 6 minutes a side).  Serve with buns and all the toppings!  It can’t be easier than that!
