It has been awhile since I have written a Come Research With Me post. I have lately been thinking, that if I am a true “research” blog, that I need to test out and try ALL the options in order to give you a solid recommendation. Truth is, I don’t have the money, time, or desire to actually test everything out.
Truthfully, I know my recommendations aren’t the only option. But, I do know I find the best option for me that fits all my criteria. That is my driving decision-maker – and you can take my recommendation or leave it! I always love your thoughts and personal favorites. Comments are loved and welcome!

So, I have mentioned before that I have been on the hunt for the perfect white blouse. You know, this one:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
My criteria was pretty straightforward:
- Classic and Tailored
- NO-IRON (this was key – I want LOW maintenance!)
- Not expensive (under $70?)
- Quality and long-lasting
I did not try on every shirt out there, but soon found there weren’t many. Here are the options I found. (Scroll down to find my favorite!)
By the way, I wasn’t paid in any way for these reviews or opinions.
Oprah recently named Brook’s Brothers No-Iron Fitted White Shirt as The Great White Shirt of the season. That’s high praise! Apparently it is perfect right out of the dryer – and absolutely gorgeous. It is priced at $98.50 – and beautiful. But, it was a little too high for my price range.
Land’s End’s Pick
I think of Land’s End as the birthplace of the Great White Shirt. Maybe it’s because their catalog was a staple on my grandmother’s coffee table. Whatever the reason, their Regular Long Sleeve Solid Supima No Iron Shirt is a long-standing classic and looks beautiful at $49.00. I don’t know why I didn’t try this one myself – I guess I was looking for a “new” option…
Pinterest Told Me To Pick
In my book, Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To is almost as credible as Oprah. Maybe more. Her “Must Haves” are seriously “must have”. Anyway, I can’t mention the white blouse without mentioning her pick of the Oxford Shirt from Gap. It is cheaper at $49.95 – but isn’t no-iron. That for me was a deal-breaker. But, I know this is great option because Sheaffer said so!
The Limited Essential Shirt
I LOVE the Limited – so I couldn’t talk about blouses without mentioning their Essential Shirt. Their beautiful shirt is priced at $49.95 and has HIGH reviews. But, it doesn’t claim to be wrinkle-free. Not an option over here.
My New Favorite
Ok, so my research wasn’t that extensive – and I didn’t try all the options – but I do LOVE the blouse I picked. All the women in my family have told me over and over again that Talbot’s Wrinkle-Resistant Shirt is THE white blouse to buy. It is priced at $72.50 (some sizes now as low as $21.99!) – but I got it as the Talbot’s Outlet in Charlotte, NC (and on top of that my mother bought it for me as a birthday gift).
I will say, this shirt is amazing. It is fitted, has perfect darts, and is flattering no matter how I wear it. And, let’s talk about the wrinkle-resistance. Seriously. I let this shirt sit in the dryer for a day WRINKLY and then wore it the next day. Not a wrinkle in sight. It’s beautiful :).
