Today I am re-hashing an idea I’ve thought about for awhile – and repeating a favorite post on this site. I have been struggling with “Just One More Thing” syndrome. The syndrome that views blogs as resources for the “perfect thing that will change my life” (I stand GUILTY). The syndrome that looks longingly at an Amazon Wish List and dreams of the day when everything will be perfect. The syndrome that buys that perfect pair of shoes saying, “I was going to buy them someday anyway. Why not now?” and then is totally over them the next day.
I am learning again that nothing is ever enough. And that we are enough.
I want to apologize if this blog is a perpetual list of what you must buy – and what you must do to have the perfect life. I do love awesome things. And I do love time-saving tips. And I do love recipes. But, honestly, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you use L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara, or not.
It matters if you are encouraged on a really stressful day. Or if you are assured that you are still loved. Or if you don’t struggle alone.
I love this Youtube video so much – it might seem cheesy at first. And then by the end, you will be crying. I realize that, as women, we need to know (more than ANY beauty tip) that we are not alone. We are all living in this world. We all struggle. We all want to feel like we have enough – or that we are enough.
I am learning that nothing we buy will ever make you feel that way.
The only thing that matters is the fact that God says we are worth loving. And Jesus says we are worth dying for. And every day, God brings his people into our lives to show us that we are not alone.
And that, is more valuable than any tip in the world. You are enough.
